1-Day Inca Trail To Machu Picchu

1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Km 104 – Machu picchu – Cusco

Your adventure begins early in the morning! Our professional tour guide and private transport will pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco. We will embark on a scenic 1.5-hour drive (1 hour and 30 minutes) through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas to the historic town of Ollantaytambo. Along the winding roads, you will enjoy breathtaking views of traditional Andean villages and sprawling, lush agricultural fields

• Scenic Train Journey to Km 104 (The Trailhead)

From the Ollantaytambo station  the main gateway for all travelers and hikers heading to the citadel—you will board the expedition train. This beautiful 1-hour and 20-minute journey follows the Urubamba River, offering spectacular views as the landscape dramatically transforms.  As we descend towards Km 104 (the official start of the trek), you will watch the Andean valley transition into the lush, warm, and vibrant high Amazon jungle. Keep an eye out for local plantations of coffee, coca, and avocados along the slopes

• The Hike: Journey through History to the Sun Gate:  Upon arriving at Km 104, we will pass the trail control point and begin our 12 km (7.46 miles) trek.
• The Challenge: The first couple of hours feature a moderate, steady climb that will test your legs, but the effort is incredibly rewarding.
• The Path: You will walk along authentic stone paths laid by the Incas. Approximately 40% of the trail is beautifully shaded by lush canopy trees, protecting you from the mountain sun.
• The Arrival: At around 1:30 PM, we will reach the legendary Sun Gate (Inti Punku). This is the exact moment you will catch your very first, unforgettable panoramic view of Machu Picchu stretching out below.
• Exploring Machu Picchu & Returning to Cusco

After capturing the classic, postcard-perfect photos of the sanctuary from the upper terraces, your guide will lead you on an engaging, personalized tour of the most important sectors of the Lost City of the Incas. As the afternoon winds down, we will take a comfortable bus down to the lively town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where you will enjoy a delicious dinner. Finally, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will be waiting to drive you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco.
