Many travel agencies offer the Sacred Valley tour first and then the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. However, Inca Trail Classic offers a different and more traveler-friendly approach.
Our itinerary begins first with the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, allowing travelers to gradually adapt to the altitude while enjoying ancient Inca sites and breathtaking landscapes along the trail. After visiting Machu Picchu, the tour continues with the Sacred Valley of the Incas, providing a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
One of the main advantages of this itinerary is that after visiting Machu Picchu, your altitude acclimatization will be much better. This allows you to continue exploring Cusco comfortably and join other popular tours such as the Humantay Lake, the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), and other day trips from Cusco.
Choosing the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with the Sacred Valley with Inca Trail Classic means better travel planning, improved acclimatization, and a more complete Cusco experience.
The Sacred Valley Tour and Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in 3 days is a complete and well-balanced experience, perfect for travelers who want culture, history, and hiking in a short time. The tour begins with a Sacred Valley excursion, helping you acclimatize to Cusco’s altitude before starting the 2-day Short Inca Trail, which involves a 12 km hike to Machu Picchu.
On the first day, you explore the Sacred Valley by comfortable transport, visiting important Inca sites such as Chinchero, Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, and Ollantaytambo. This gentle introduction to the Andes allows you to enjoy the landscapes and culture without strenuous hiking.
The Short Inca Trail begins at Km 104, near Machu Picchu, following a beautiful section of the original Inca path through cloud forest and archaeological sites, before reaching the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
